It sounds like a bittersweet moment for Newcastle United fans if a striker is set to leave but might have one final appearance at St James’ Park. Do you know which player it is?

Newcastle United under-21s played at St James’ Park on Monday night and for some players, it might have been for the final time.

The young Magpies were beaten 1-0 by Aston Villa and among those involved who are out-of-contract this summer are Amadou Diallo, Lucas de Bolle, Jordan Hackett, Kyle Crossley and Dylan Stephenson.

Four of those five players have remained with the club’s academy this year. Stephenson, however, has only just come back into the fold after spending the second-half of the season on loan at National League North side South Shields.

Reuniting with former Magpies coach Elliott Dickman, the 21-year-old enjoyed a successful spell, scoring eight goals and providing one assist in 18 appearances as the Mariners narrowly missed out of play-off spot.
