Tottenham Hotspur took a massive dent in their hopes of Champions League qualification following yesterday’s damaging blow by Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. The North Londoners were blown out of the water as struggling Mauricio Pochettino’s side came away with a win against Ange Postecoglou’s side.

Spurs went into the game with high hopes, looking to transpose their fortunes with two consecutive defeats against Newcastle United and Arsenal. However, the Blues ended up making it three blows in a row as Ange Postecoglou’s side now picked up zero points out of a possible nine.

The current poor form reflects in the league table, as the Lilywhites are now seven points adrift of the fourth-placed Aston Villa. While Spurs have one game in hand over Unai Emery’s side, they are not the masters of their own destiny anymore and have a steep climb ahead of them if they were to qualify for the Champions League.
