It sounds like West Ham is eyeing a promising player from the Championship. Signing top-rated players from lower leagues can often be a smart move for clubs looking to strengthen their squads. Do you know who they’re targeting?

Since signing for West Ham four-and-a-half years ago, Jarrod Bowen has consistently gone up a level. From his overall play, to his goal scoring, to his consistent performances even in the biggest games, Bowen is without a doubt the Hammers best player at the club.

Considering the East London side got the current face of their club from the Championship, it should come as no surprise they are keen on bringing in the best talents from the league.

In January, West Ham were linked with a number of targets from the second tier of English football. Unfortunately, due to alleged disagreements between David Moyes and Tim Steidten about signings, they only ended up bringing Kalvin Phillips on loan and, therefore, none of the Championship moves materialised.

However, with David Moyes leaving and the technical director expected to take near full control of transfers, things could be about to change.
