Harry Kane says there is ‘a lot going on’ at Tottenham Hotspur as Antonio Conte was finally sacked by Daniel Levy on Sunday evening.
Just over a week after Antonio Conte’s rant, the outspoken coach was booted out by Tottenham Hotspur, with the club posting on their official website that Cristian Stellini will take charge until the end of the season.
Whilst there has been a lot of noise around Spurs during this past week, Harry Kane has been doing the business on the field of play.
On Thursday, Kane became England’s all-time leading goalscorer when he scored from the penalty spot during his nation’s 2-1 win over Italy – Wayne Rooney and Harry Kane’s records have been compared.
Added to that, he scored goal number 55 on Sunday when Gareth Southgate’s side beat Ukraine at Wembley and started off their Euro 2024 qualifying campaign in the perfect fashion.
Nonetheless, following England’s win yesterday, Kane shared his brief thoughts on Spurs and returning to club football, as he told BBC Radio 5 Live Sport.
BBC journalist John Murray stated when speaking to Kane: “Yes, back to Tottenham, on the subject of rollercoasters.”
Kane responded: “Yeah, a lot going on. But I have really enjoyed this week with England, that’s the most important thing and now it’s time to get back to the club.”
Tottenham are in a mess, once again, and, for the second time, a trophy-laden coach has been sacked and they are going to end the season with someone in temporary charge.
Is it a surprise that Kane hasn’t signed a new contract yet?
With 12 months left in the summer on his contract, it wouldn’t be a surprise if he heads for the exit door, regardless of whether his team secures Champions League football or not.
