Guglielmo Vicario breaks silence ahead of Tottenham Hotspur transfer from Empoli

The Italian goalkeeper is on the verge of completing his switch to the Premier League and Ange Postecoglou’s north London team

Guglielmo Vicario has broken his social media silence for the first time since reports over his move to Tottenham Hotspur from Empoli began to gather pace.

The 26-year-old goalkeeper is expected to complete the switch to Spurs, reportedly in a deal worth 19m euros (£16.3m), within the next 48 hours. Vicario will become the first new face of the Ange Postecoglou era to arrive at Hotspur Way ahead of pre-season which begins on Saturday, July 1 for some of the Australian’s first teamIn the early hours of Sunday morning, Vicario posted a photo of himself and his agent Gabriele Giuffrida on his Instagram story with the caption “#LivingTheDream” followed by a red flashing warning light, perhaps hinting at what it is to come next for him. The Italy international is now expected to complete his medical tests in England and tie up the final details of his move to Tottenham over the next two days.

Vicario was one of the most highly-rated goalkeepers in Serie A last season, following on from a first impressive campaign with Empoli in the competition the previous year.
