The latest Leicester City news as the midfielder has spoken for the first time since his exit from the King Power Stadium was confirmed on Wednesday night
James Maddison has taken to social media to send a message to Leicester City fans following confirmation of his transfer to Tottenham.
The midfielder’s five years at the King Power Stadium came to an end on Wednesday evening when the club confirmed that he had signed for Spurs. It is reported that City will get an initial £40million in transfer fees, with that price possibly rising with add-ons During his time with City, Maddison was part of the squad that won the FA Cup, Community Shield as well as two fifth place finishes. He also played in the Europa League and Europa Conference League with the club, reaching the semi-final of the latter competition.Maddison was one of the standout players in the squad over the last 18 months, but couldn’t help the club see off relegation from the Premier League at the end of the season. The drop down to the Championship made a move this summer inevitable.
Following confirmation of his exit from the club, Maddison has now taken to social media to send a message to the “Leicester City family”. The 26-year-old has posted a video of his highlights of his time at the club, alongside Lukas Graham’s song 7 years. The video ends with a simple “Thank you”.
In the captions, Maddison wrote a message to fans: “Leicester City family,” he wrote.“I arrived as a 21 year old boy and left as a 26 year old man. Five seasons & 203 appearances later my journey with this special football club has come to an end.
