Football.London journalist Alasdair Gold has reported that Tottenham Hotspur starlet, Harvey White is on his way to joining Derby County on loan for the remainder of the season.
Just a month ago, Antonio Conte was quoted praising the youngster, who impressed him in training during the World Cup as well as in the behind-closed-door games.
“Also, Harvey White was a good surprise because we are talking about a young player, but really, really clever, a player that I can ask him to play in every position and he is good to do it”, Conte told Football.London.
Now, it seems the talent is set to leave Spurs for a couple of months to gain first-team action.
However, Football.London journalist Alasdair Gold has reported that out of 6 interested clubs, it is Derby County who have managed to strike a loan deal with Tottenham to sign Harvey White.
In November, it was claimed by the Evening Standard’s Dan Kilpatrick that Antonio Conte himself had blocked a loan switch for the 21-year-old.
The Italian boss even trusted the highly-rated midfielder to operate as a striker in certain behind-closed-door friendlies, like in the side’s 4-0 win against Motherwell.
But now, Harvey White seems Derby County-bound, as a loan switch for the rest of the season seems in the works.
While it is not particularly necessary for White to ensure he gets a shot at Spurs next season, the possibility exists.
Pape Matar Sarr has shone in limited opportunities while Pierre Emile-Hojberg, while being in form is not an elite player in the position.
If Harvey Whites makes a serious impression at Derby County on loan, he could well be tested as Tottenham’s No.6 in the following campaign.
