Manchester United step up Rasmus Hojlund interest as Erik ten Hag eyes two new strikers

Manchester United are ready to ramp up their interest in Atalanta striker Rasmus Hojlund, talkSPORT understands.

Ideally manager Erik Ten Hag wants to sign two new front-men this summer.Danish international Hojlund is valued at £40m by Atalanta after being compared to Erling Haaland because of his eye for goal and aerial ability.

The 20-year-old scored nine Serie A goals in his first season after signing from the Italian club from Sturm Graz in the Austrian Bundesliga.

He already has a title to his name too, winning the Danish Superliga with Copenhagen.

Hojlund also has four caps for Denmark, scoring a remarkable five times already.

Man United‘s pursuit of a striker continues to ramp up with the season barely over for them.

Their last match of the 2022/23 campaign was the 2-1 FA Cup final defeat to rivals Man City.

Harry Kane is a leading target for Ten Hag, but their is scepticism that Tottenham chief Daniel Levy would sell him to a Premier League rival.

Real Madrid have also entered the race for the striker following Karim Benzema’s departure.United have also opened negotiations with Chelsea over a deal to sign Mason Mount, while Declan Rice is also on their radar.

A new goalkeeper and defender is also likely to be on Ten Hag’s wishlist this summer.

However, uncertainty continues to surround their ownership situation and could affect their ability to complete transfers while negotiations continue.
