Report: 25-year-old Tottenham ace ‘likely to move on’ this summer

Tottenham Hotspur defender Joe Rodon could be on his way out of the club this summer.

The defender was on loan at Rennes this past season and he could look to move on in search of regular playing time. He made 22 appearances for the Ligue 1 side.

The 25-year-old Wales international has two years left on his current contract and clubs from England and France are reportedly keen on securing its services.

As per Football London, Australian manager Ange Postecoglou is likely to take a look at the defender before making his decision on his future, but he is ‘likely to move on’ from Tottenham.

Rodon will need to play regularly at this stage of his career and he is unlikely to get those opportunities at the north London club. It makes sense for him to move on permanently this summer.

Tottenham Hotspur could be set for a major rebuild this summer. They have appointed Postecoglou as the club’s new manager and the Australian is likely to make changes in terms of incoming and outgoing.

Players like Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg have been linked with a move away from the club as well. There have been rumours that the Denmark international might not be a good fit for the Australian’s style of football.

Similarly, Rodon is likely to be shipped out in the summer if he does not fit the new Tottenham manager’s philosophy.

Tottenham will have to invest in a quality central defender this summer. They were quite vulnerable at the back last year and they will need to find a reliable partner for Cristian Romero
