According to Turkish outlet Milliyet, Tottenham Hotspur have now submitted an offer to Galatasaray to sign Nicolo Zaniolo.
Some reports indicated during the January transfer window that Spurs came quite close to striking a deal with Roma for Nicolo Zaniolo (90 min).
However, the North London club decided to bolster their forward line with the acquisition of Arnaut Danjuma on loan instead while the 23-year-old completed a move to Galatasaray for a fee of £19.5m, with his contract at the Turkish club thought to have a release clause of £31m (Fabrizio RomanoIf Milliyet’s latest update is to be believed, Tottenham and Bournemouth, who both showed an interest in the Italy international in January, have now reignited their pursuit of the winger.
The publication claims that Zaniolo could be on his way out of Turkey just six months after arriving in Istanbul, with both Spurs and Cherries alleged to have submitted ‘attractive offers’ for the player.
It is explained that Galatasaray vice-president Erden Timur recently made a trip to London, where he held a ‘transfer meeting’ with a few clubs, which gave an opportunity for Tottenham and Bournemouth to hold talks over the former Roma star.
Milliyet add that the figures discussed between the parties for Zaniolo were around €30m (£25.7m), which is around €3m (£2.5m) less than Gary O’Neil’s side were willing to pay for the winger in January.
Spurs Web Opinion
Zaniolo seemed like a Paratici and Conte target more than a club target.
So, with neither Italian still at Tottenham, I would be extremely surprised if the Lilywhites made a move for the winger this summer.
Besides, the 23-year-old has certainly not set the world alight since his switch to Turkey.
