Revealed: Big Tottenham manager update – new three-man shortlist

Luis Enrique, Ruben Amorim and Ange Postecoglou are in the frame for the Tottenham managerial vacancy, sources have told Football Insider.

It is believed that Daniel Levy is keen to take his time over an appointment – with the Spurs chairman recognising the need to install the right man.Tottenham sacked both manager Antonio Conte and his interim replacement Cristian Stellini in the 2022-23 campaign.

First-team coach Ryan Mason, who had previously taken charge in 2021 following Jose Mourinho’s sacking, oversaw the final six league games of the season.

Tottenham limped to an eighth-place finish after winning just two of a possible six games under Mason – meaning they will be without European football for the 2023-24 campaign.

There are also huge question marks over the future of Harry Kane, who has one year left on his Spurs contract and has been widely linked with Man United, Bayern Munich and Chelsea.Nevertheless, Levy is tasked with finding the right manager capable of returning Tottenham to contention at the Premier League’s summit.

The long-serving chairman must also find a new solution behind the scenes after managing director of football Fabio Paratici was handed a 30-month worldwide ban.

Spurs looked set to make Feyenoord boss Arne Slot their new manager last week, but the Dutchman has chosen to extend his contract at De Kuip.

Former Barcelona boss Enrique, 53, remains on the radar after his exit as Spain manager last year (2022).

Tottenham
Amorim, 38, won Liga Portugal with Sporting CP in the 2020-21 campaign and is considered an attractive prospect by Spurs.

And Postecoglou, 57, is an option for the Lilywhites as he closes in on a record-breaking domestic treble with Celtic this term.
