Hakim Ziyech could still leave Chelsea for Saudi Arabia this summer after a deal to join Al-Nassr recently broke down.
That is according to Matt Law of the Telegraph.
So, what is the latest on Hakim Ziyech? Let’s take a look…
What’s the story?
Well, this is a shock development.
Ziyech was set to join Cristiano Ronaldo at Al-Nassr in a deal worth £8m before the Morocco international surprisingly failed a medical with the Saudi Pro League side.
The £33.3m man did not seem too happy about that, as he mocked the outcome of his fitness examinations on Instagram by insisting that his knees are more than fine.
Now – however – the deal could be back on. Law does not state whether Ziyech could still be moving to Al-Nassr or another side in Saudi Arabia, although he does claim that there is a “belief” at Stamford Bridge that the 30-year-old could yet move to that part of the globe.
The Telegraph journalist wrote on Twitter: “Hakim Ziyech to Saudi Arabia could yet be revived. There’s a belief he could still end up moving there from Chelsea this summer.”
Ziyech update will please Pochettino at Chelsea
By the sounds of it, Mauricio Pochettino will be pleased if the Chelsea No.22’s move to Saudi Arabia is back on.
Ziyech is said to be part of a four-man group at Chelsea that the Argentine is desperate to offload before Wednesday, as he aims to remove those who aren’t fully committed to the Blues, according to the Telegraph.
Christian Pulisic – who is close to joining AC Milan – Romelu Lukaku and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang are the other players who make up Pochettino’s unwanted quartet. There has been little movement on Aubameyang’s future, although Lukaku seems likely to join Inter Milan.
The Italian giants are expected to ramp up their pursuit of the Belgian once they sell Andre Onana, according to Gazzetta dello Sport, who has been the subject of two bids from Manchester United.
Be sure to keep an eye on Ziyech, as he could soon be joining the long list of outgoings at Chelsea this summer.
