Tottenham Hotspur are closing in on agreeing a deal with Brentford for David Raya’s services and developments are expected soon, according to Italian journalist Rudy Galetti.
Spurs are in for a goalkeeper this summer and they have identified Brentford’s Raya as their top target.
The 27-year-old Spaniard is also in favour of a move to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and Spurs new boss Ange Postecoglou has also issued the green light for the transfer.
He is set to enter the final year of his contract and Brentford want £40m for the player.
Spurs do not agree with Brentford’s valuation of Raya and they are negotiating to lower the asking price of the goalkeeper.
It has been suggested any deal will not be done quickly, but now the opposite is being claimed.
Tottenham are suggested to be close to reaching an agreement with Brentford for Raya and the fee will be around €20m to €25m, with developments expected soon.
It has been suggested that no other club except Tottenham are in talks with Brentford for the goalkeeper.
And if all goes well, Raya will become Postecoglou’s first signing as Spurs manager
