Latest Leicester City news as Foxes face crucial summer transfer window ahead of Championship season
A swoop for Leicester City’s James Maddison is said to have been given the seal of approval by newly-appointed Tottenham Hotspur boss Ange Postecoglou.
Maddison is almost certain to depart the King Power Stadium this summer, not only because of the club’s relegation to the Championship, but also because he has just one year left on his contract. He has no shortage of suitors ahead of the transfer window opening next Wednesday.
Spurs are among the clubs said to be keen on the 26-year-old. And although they have just announced their new manager this week, it seems their interest remains.

According to 90min, Postecoglou has given the thumbs up to some of Tottenham’s transfer plans – including targeting Maddison. The head coach, who officially starts work on July 1, is reportedly “happy” for the club to continue their pursuit of the playmaker.Maddison is said to be worth about £40 million. However, City could get more than that if a bidding war ensues in the coming weeks.
Newcastle United made a move for him last summer, seeing two bids rejected, and retain an interest. Arsenal have also been linked with the attacking midfielder.
