Tottenham’s official Twitter account sends message to Dele Alli after Gary Neville interview

Tottenham Hotspur’s official Twitter account has sent a message to Dele Alli following his emotional interview with Gary Neville today.

Dele spoke to The Overlap and offered an eye-opening insight into his struggles on and off the pitch over the past few years.

The 27-year-old opened up on his battle with sleeping pills addiction and his mental health, touching on some heartbreaking incidents throughout his life.

Unsurprisingly, Dele has already received plenty of support on social media after telling his story.

The likes of Harry Kane and Jan Vertonghen have already sent messages to the former Spurs star. And now Tottenham have sent their former player a message of support on Twitter.

Tottenham posted a picture of Dele in Spurs colours during the 2018/19 campaign, alongside a heart emoji.

Kane also took to social media after watching the interview and declared he was ‘proud’ of his former teammate.

He wrote: “Proud of Dele for speaking out and sharing his experience to try and help others.”

Vertonghen reacted to the interview with a heart emoji and two faces holding back tears emojis.Dele also received a message of support from his former team MK Dons, where he helped them to promotion to the Championship before joining Spurs.

It’s incredibly brave from Dele to speak so openly about his struggles over the past few years.

He’s received plenty of criticism during this period due to a prolonged dip in form, but it’s fair to say that many will owe him an apology off the back of this interview.

We certainly hope to see Dele back in the Premier League this season and doing what he loves the most – playing football with a smile on his face once again.
